The Mets kicked off Thursday with the news of them hiring Baseball Prospectus writer Russell Carleton for their analytical department, but they weren’t done, they’ve also hired Andrew Perpetua.

Perpetua has written stuff for RotoGraphs, The Hardball Times, and did a couple articles here at MMO back in 2017. He’s also the creator of xStats.org and ran the Twitter account @CitiFieldHR.

More recently, Perpetua worked as a researcher and analyst at NEIFI (Normalized Empirical Individual Forecasting Index). At NEIFI he worked under Adam Guttridge, whom was hired by the Mets earlier this offseason to be their assistant general manager focusing in systematic development.
