Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports that Mets catcher Travis d’Arnaud is back with the team after starting the season on the Injured List. Tomas Nido was sent to Triple-A Syracuse as d’Arnaud takes his place as backup to Wilson Ramos.

D’Arnaud, 30, has been out of action since April of 2018 after undergoing Tommy John surgery, but after what everyone hopes to be a successful rehab, he’s back in New York.

A .245/.306/.406 career hitter, Travis has thrown out only 21% of potential base-stealers in his career. He will surely benefit from playing with Wilson Ramos, who’s career mark is 31% — 3% higher than the league average. Though as he had significant elbow surgery on his throwing arm, it remains to be seen how effective against base-stealers he can be.
