The Mets are acquiring outfielder Cedric Mullins from the Orioles, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports. Righties Anthony Nunez, Raimon Gómez, and Chandler Marsh are headed to Baltimore.

While it’s a far cry from his 30-30 2021 season, Mullins is putting together his fourth straight above-average offensive season. He’s batting .229/.305/.433 (104 wRC+) with 15 homers, 19 doubles, and 14 steals in 355 plate appearances. Mullins struggled mightily in May and June, but bounced back with a solid .868 OPS over 78 plate appearances in July.

He’s played almost entirely center field in 2025, posting negative-14 defensive runs saved but two outs above average in 88 games. The Mets had been looking to upgrade in center field – where they have received just a .602 OPS in 2025.

As for Gómez, Marsh, and Nunez, all three have worked mostly out of the bullpen in 2025. They all ranked inside Mike Mayer’s midseason top 50 Mets prospects – Nunez at 23, Gómez at 32, and Marsh at 46. Nunez has had the most success of the three this year, making it up to Double-A Binghamton and posting a 1.58 ERA with 60 strikeouts over 40 innings between High-A and Double-A.
