The Mets announced on Thursday morning that Robinson Cano and Jeff McNeil have both been placed on the 10-day injured list. They have recalled infielder Luis Guillorme and left-handed reliever Ryan O’Rourke from Triple-A Syracuse to take the place of Cano and McNeil on the 25-man roster.

Cano left the Mets 6-1 win on Wednesday night with a quad strain. The veteran infielder is hitting only .241/.287/.381 with three homers in his first 45 games with the Mets.

McNeil is hitting the IL with tightness in his right hamstring. Callaway said it was “pretty tight” though McNeil hasn’t had an MRI yet. McNeil has been fantastic in 2019 with a .333/.418/.461 slash line and posting a 1.7 bWAR.

The versatile McNeil said he expects to be back when eligible to come off the IL and considers the injury minor according to Zach Braziller of the New York Post.

Guillorme has a .377 OPS in 19 big league plate appearances this year and was hitting .278/.402/.361 in Triple-A.

O’Rourke made his Mets debut earlier this year with 1.1 scoreless innings despite walking three in that time. He has a 3.10 ERA in 20.1 innings for Syracuse.
