New York Mets starter, Matt Harvey was pleased with his arsenal of pitches last night. In a rain shortened performance that saw Harvey pulled after the rain delay, another step in the right direction was taken.

Harvey only saw 3.2 innings before the rain washed his start away as he gave way to the bullpen upon the delay’s end. In the short outing he allowed just the one run on four hits. He walked three batters while striking out the same amount. Although just giving up the one run, it was still enough to take the loss as his record fell to 4-10 on the season as the team fell to the Nationals by a score of 5-0.

“I worked so hard over the year to finally figure some stuff out, and then Mother Nature takes over,” Harvey said. (ESPN)

Harvey, 27, saw his ERA dip just a bit to 4.55 and his WHIP rise a tad to 1.40. The lack of run support for Harvey continues, as the team just does not score any runs for the man.

Matt finished off the month of June with an 0-3 record with an ERA of 2.83. A nice improvement for Harvey after having a very rough start to his season that almost saw him being pulled from the rotation. He is not the dominant pitcher he once was, but he has righted his season and continues to go in the right direction.
