dMLB: Atlanta Braves at Kansas City Royals

Jeff Francoeur‘s tour of the National League East continues as the Miami Marlins acquired the veteran outfielder in a three-team swap. Frenchy has now played for every team in the NL East but the Washington Nationals.

The Deal saw the Braves acquire minor league shortstop Dylan Moore from the Texas Rangers as well as minor league catcher/first baseman Matt Foley from the Marlins. In return for the share of the trade, the Rangers will receive three international bonus slots with two coming from the Marlins and one from the Braves.

Francoeur looks to help a team who lost their star in Giancarlo Stanton. Overall on the season he has hit to a .249/.290/.381 slash line to go alone with seven homers and 33 RBI.

As the waiver wire deadline approaches, it now appears unlikely that the Mets will make any moves for a bullpen arm. After hearing for quite awhile this would be the team’s focus, Sandy Alderson and crew decided to help the offense at the non-waiver trading deadline.

Many bullpen arms are still floating around out there, but will come at too much a cost for the Mets liking. The team will continue forward with their in-house options as they look to grab a Wild-Card spot that is within their grasp.
