The Miami Marlins have acquired outfielder/first baseman Carlos Lee from the Houston Astros according to Fox Sports‘ Ken Rosenthal.

Houston will receive two minor leaguers, third baseman Matt Dominguez and left-hander Rob Rasmussen in exchange for Lee.

The Astros will pay almost all of the approximately $9 million remaining on Lee’s contract. Miami will assume the pro-rated portion of the MLB minimum salary of $480,000.

The deal comes less than a week after Lee invoked his limited no-trade clause to block a potential trade to the Los Angeles Dodgers, but the Marlins were one of the teams on is list so that won’t happen this time.

Lee, 36, gives the Marlins the right-handed bat they’ve been looking for and was batting .286 with five home runs and 29 RBI in 66 games for Houston.

Dominguez, 22, was batting .234 with seven home runs and 46 RBIs with Triple-A New Orleans, and Rasmussen, 23, had a 3.90 ERA and 75 strikeouts in 89 2/3 innings for Single-A Jupiter.
