Mark Canha lived up to his Twitter handle name, “outtadapakmark” on Sunday! Cahna went 3-for-5, hit two home runs “out of the park,” had two runs scored, and drove in five RBI’s, half of the RBI’s the Mets drove in as a whole.

Canha’s first home run was a three-run home run in the seventh inning off of Connor Brogdon and his second was a two-run home run in the ninth off of his former teammate David Robertson.

Canha also singled in the fifth inning but was left stranded on first.

Over his last 15 games, Canha is batting .333, with a .449 OBP, and slugging .692.

In his last seven games, Canha has shown a lot of success as he is batting .429, with a .478 OBP, and a 1.048 SLG percentage. He has four runs scored, nine hits in seven games, three home runs, eight RBI’s, and two walks.

“I felt myself get in that zone, and told myself to ride that wave, stay present, and focus on the task at hand. That’s what I always say, and that’s what I was doing,” said Canha.

Canha said Sunday’s win was a special one after coming from behind. After stringing some hits together he said he knew the team was going to get something going and that’s exactly what happened Sunday as the Mets came from behind to defeat the Phillies. He said it can be even more difficult when you’re trying to stay focused after a long rain delay and that the Mets were able to do that and come out to get the win late.

Canha’s ninth-inning home run was the go-ahead home run for New York, and it was a big, clutch moment for Canha who said it was special.

“It’s just emotional. It’s a really good feeling,” he said. “I haven’t had too many big, clutch moments like that this year, so it was nice to finally get one.”

He also talked about how it’s been nice to start heating up offensively and to be able to contribute to driving in runs for his time.

“I was just super-happy (Sunday) to contribute and get one for the boys. It’s just an emotional moment,” Canha expressed.
