Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports that Major League Baseball will announce the 2020 schedule next week. Heyman notes that the Players Union has signed off on the schedule and it’s just awaiting teams to make final requests.

We do know that the season will kick off on July 23 with the Yankees up against the Nationals. The defending World Series champs will host the game in primetime.

The 60-game season for the Mets will include them taking on the American League East during Interleague play for a total of 20 games. It will also include playing 10 games against each one of their National League division foes.

Mets manager Luis Rojas told reporters on Thursday that playing all of their games against the AL and NL East certainly presents a challenge.
