Mets owner Steve Cohen, Mets president Sandy Alderson and Mets general manager Billy Eppler will introduce Max Scherzer via Zoom today at 1:00 p.m. ET. Also, joining the Zoom will be Scherzer’s agent Scott Boras.
The Mets made their signing of the three-time Cy Young winner official on Wednesday morning. The contract is worth $130 million over three years, giving Scherzer a record $43.3 average annual value.
“Max is a fierce competitor, and we are thrilled to welcome him to New York,” said Eppler. “The credit goes to Steve and Alex Cohen for their efforts, commitment and resources to bring someone as accomplished as Max into the organization.”
