Luke Voit, who hit 14 homers in 37 games with Triple-A Syracuse last year but struggled in 74 plate appearances with the Brewers, arrived in Mets spring training camp with a minor league deal, according to multiple reports.

The first baseman/DH and the Mets agreed to a deal with his contract to be finalized later today, according to Tim Healey of Newsday.

In 74 plate appearances with Milwaukee, Voit, 33, hit .221/.284/.265 last year with no home runs and three doubles. He was released by the Brewers in June. The Mets signed him nine days later and released him in August per his request after posting a 1.058 OPS in Triple-A.

He hit 22 home runs in 500 at-bats with the Padres and Nationals in 2022 and has a career slash line of .253/.339/.468. Voit came up with the Cardinals and played four seasons with the Yankees, leading the American League with 22 home runs in the Covid-shortened 2020 season when he finished ninth in MVP voting.

The Mets also recently signed Ji-Man Choi as they look to give themselves additional options to DJ Stewart and Mark Vientos at designated hitter.
