Manager Luis Rojas talked to the media before the Mets looked for a four-game sweep of the Phillies on Thursday. Rojas said that left-hander Joey Lucchesi will start for the Mets and Friday at Coors Field and they haven’t made a decision about Saturday, though they could go with the well rested Robert Gsellman.

Lucchesi, 27, made his Mets debut last week with two scoreless innings and three strikeouts against the Phillies. The former San Diego Padre has a 4.21 ERA in 58 career starts.

Rojas stopped short of naming Gsellman the starter, but Robert’s name was the first one mentioned when asked about who would start on Saturday against the Rockies.

The Mets manager noted that there’s potential inclement weather on Thursday vs the Phillies, so they want to see how/if that game goes before making a final decision.

In other rotation news, Rojas told the media that Carlos Carrasco pitched four innings on 65 pitches in Florida on Wednesday and is expected to go five innings in his next outing.

It was reported on March 18 that Carrasco had a high-grade torn hamstring and his recovery time was expected to be 6-8 weeks.
