Major League Baseball announced that Logan Verrett has cleared waivers and as such he was returned back to the New York Mets.

Verrett has been assigned to Triple-A Las Vegas.

What goes around, comes around. 🙂

Right-hander Logan Verrett was designated for assignment by the Texas Rangers and could end up coming back to the Mets according to Adam Rubin of ESPN New York.

Verrett, 24, was selected by the Baltimore Orioles in the Rule 5 draft back in December. He was then claimed by Texas after Baltimore DFA’d him and won a job on the Opening Day roster in the Rangers bullpen.

After a slow start, giving up 7 runs on 11 hits and 4 walks in 9 innings as a reliever, Verrett was designated for assignment on Friday because the Rangers needed a roster spot for pitcher Wandy Rodriguez.

If Verrett isn’t traded by the Rangers then he must be offered back to the Mets if no other club decides to put in a waiver claim.

Verrett spent last season with Triple-A Vegas and went 11-5  with a 4.33 ERA in 28 starts for them.
