Due to Monday’s rained out game that led to today’s doubleheader, Logan Verrett will will make a spot start on Saturday in Milwaukee against the Brewers.

Verrett, 25, pitched two scoreless innings of relief during the first game against the Pirates, allowing a hit and a walk while striking out two. He has a 3.22 ERA in 18 appearances this season including three starts, striking out 26 in 36.1 innings pitched.

The versatile right-hander has had two solid spot starts already this season against the Marlins and Phillies, combining for 12 shutout innings.

However his most recent start against the Rockies on May 14th, was a totally different story. He surrendered seven runs, while failing to get out of the third inning.

The Mets are hopeful that the more dominant Verrett is the man that shows up on Saturday.
