Ken Rosenthal of the Athletic reports that the New York Mets will interview both Carlos Beltran and Mike Bell in- person. In addition, he confirms a report made by Jon Heyman of MLB Network earlier that Joe Girardi will also get an in-person interview.

Joel Sherman of the New York Post adds that John Gibbons is also among the names being considered, while Buck Showalter has not been contacted. The team is expecting to interview at least five people.

Beltran, 42, is currently a special advisor to New York Yankees’ GM, Brian Cashman, and played for the Mets from 2005-2011. He was a runner-up to Aaron Boone for the Yankees’ managerial position during the 2017 offseason after the team fired Girardi.

Bell, 44, is the Arizona Diamondbacks farm director currently and interviewed for managerial jobs with the Baltimore Orioles and Texas Rangers last offseason. Rosenthal notes that the Pittsburgh Pirates are also doing some background work on Bell and he is the younger brother of Cincinnati Reds’ manager, David Bell.
