PECOTA Projections From BP

The folks over at Baseball Prospectus just published their 2010 projected standings. For the life of me, I’ll never understand this whole scientific approach to these things. Last season, as I do every season, I posted my own projections and got 4 out of 6 first place teams right, and my system is no better than throwing darts! Anyhow, here’s their take on the NL East… 1....

Fernando Tatis Will Be A Met

Update 4:55 PM – According to Jon Heyman of SI.com, Fernando Tatis is in fact re-signing with the Mets. “Fernando Tatis will be rejoining the Mets, so Carlos Delgado will have to sign elsewhere. Then at the end of the interview he added...

Minaya and Wilpon – Part Of The Problem, Not The Solution

Somewhere in heaven, former Mets beloved broadcaster Bob Murphy has bellowed, “Fasten Your Seatbelts,” one more time.  With no games to call, he may have been referring to the news that the Mets are interested in former Braves pitcher John Smoltz as a starter.    If Murph was back in the booth next season, only he would be older than Smoltz, as employees of the floundering Mets...
