Juan Lagares will be activated from the disabled list before tonight’s game, the team announced this afternoon.
Lagares has been out since late-July with a torn ligament in his left hand, which he had been dealing with for months prior to opting for surgery. He has not yet taken any live batting practice, so he will be strictly a defensive replacement for the time being.
Lagares was batting .243/.303/.386 (87 wRC+) with three homers and four stolen bases in 156 plate appearances. His last month before hitting the DL for the final time was brutal for Lagares at the plate. He hit just .160/.263/.300 in the month of July.
