The Mets got good news on Juan Soto‘s calf.
Soto received an MRI on his calf earlier Saturday, which the superstar says came back revealing a minor strain. Due to the results, Soto wasn’t placed on the IL, but will remain day to day.
Carlos Mendoza also stated the plan is to wait until the Mets get back to Citi Field Tuesday to further evaluate Soto, and time on the IL is still a possibility for Soto.
Soto left Friday’s game in the first inning Friday. He was seen grimacing as he ran the bases on a base hit from Bo Bichette and didn’t take the field for the bottom half.
Soto is out of the lineup Saturday against the Giants. The left fielder had started the year strong and was slashing .355/.412/.516 with a homer in eight games.
