
New York Mets shortstop Jose Reyes collected three hits in the team’s 8-0 win over the Miami Marlins on Wednesday night. Reyes now has the second most hits in Mets franchise history with 1,420.
Reyes passed Ed Kranepool who had 1,418 hits, and only trails teammate David Wright who has collected 1777 as a Met.
Jose went 3 for 4 with his tenth double, a run scored and an run batted in on Wednesday. He even made a few nice plays at shortstop where he has struggled defensively for the season.
The struggling Reyes has his average over .200 (.202) for the first time since May 29 and his OPS over .600 (.610) for just the second time in that span.
