Great news to report Mets fans…

The Mets announced on Tuesday morning that their starting shortstop’s thyroid readings have normalized and that he has been cleared to engage in baseball activities. Reyes is expected to resume his Spring Training upon his arrival in camp.

His thyroid levels have returned to normal, and he is on his way back to Tradition Field later today and will be in Mets camp and on the field tomorrow.

Additionally, John Harper of the Daily News reported on SNY moments ago, that a team source told him Jose Reyes will be ready to play on Opening Day.

Lets put all those Alex Cora versus Ruben Tejada debates to rest…

The addition of Jose Reyes will certainly electrify the team and give the players a renewed confidence in the upcoming season. I can’t wait to see him wreaking havoc on the basepaths again, and whether it’s as the leadoff hitter or the number three hitter I couldn’t really care right now.

All that matters is that one of baseball’s most exciting players, and certainly the catalyst of the New York Mets, is going to be back and ready for Opening Day!
