jose reyes 2

After tonight’s 3-1 win over the St. Louis Cardinals, manger Terry Collins told reporters that shortstop Jose Reyes was at the hospital and had suffered a Grade 1 intercostal.

Collins said it would keep Reyes out for a few days. A Grade 1 strain is considered the least severe. Reyes apparently suffered the injury while taking a swing during an at-bat in game one of the doubleheader.

Reyes is batting .239 with a .278 OBP and .493 SLG with three home runs and eight RBIs in 67 at-bats with the Mets this season.

This should open up some playing time for Wilmer Flores while Reyes is out.

More on this tomorrow morning I’m sure.
