According to Ken Rosenthal of the Athletic, the Philadelphia Phillies have claimed Mets outfielder Jose Bautista on revocable trade waivers.

The two teams are currently discussing a trade, and any deal would need to be completed by tomorrow.

Jon Heyman of Fancred notes that the Phillies aren’t just going to be handed the 37-year old outfielder. Since Bautista is being payed the league minimum, the Mets are said to be looking for a prospect in return.

In 82 games in Queens, Bautista is hitting .207/.352/.372 with 13 doubles, nine home runs, and 37 RBI’s. He fell into a slump in early August, but over his past 14 games he has a .738 OPS.
