Last night during the Mets Holiday Party, Mets GM Sandy Alderson sounded less confident than he has in the past regarding starting pitcher, Johan Santana.

“We do have some question marks, of course, with Santana being one of them,” general manager Sandy Alderson said Tuesday at the team’s annual Christmas party. “We think he’s going to be ready, but he might not be.”

Santana had surgery in September 2010 to repair a torn capsule in his left shoulder, and then endured a year full of setbacks in 2011 which kept him from ever making it back to the team.

It has been over a year and a half since Santana has thrown a major league pitch, and yet he is owed $55 million dollars for the next two seasons.
