New York Mets right-hander Jenrry Mejia made his return to affiliated ball on Thursday in the Dominican Summer League.

Mejia, 28, pitched four scoreless innings for the DSL Mets in his first appearance since 2015. He allowed only one hit, zero walks and struck out three.

On July 6, it was announced by MLB commissioner Robert Manfred that Mejia was granted a conditional reinstatement from his lifetime ban. He received the ban in 2016 following his third positive test for performance enhancing drugs.

If Mejia complies with certain conditions established by the commissioner, Mejia and the Players Association, Mejia will be reinstated from the Restricted List and will be eligible to resume all baseball activities beginning with the 2019 Spring Training.

Mejia has a 3.68 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 28 saves in 183 career innings with the Mets.
