After violently crashing into the left-field wall yesterday, Jeff McNeil spoke with the media today.
Per MetsMerizedOnline’s own Jacob Resnick, McNeil will remain out of the lineup tonight and will presumably avoid a trip to the IL. He mentioned that he’s “he’s feeling better than yesterday.”
Despite cracking his head against the Northwell Health advertisement, McNeil added that although his neck is a little sore, he does not appear to have a concussion.
The Mets have diagnosed him with a bone bruise on his left leg.
There was plenty of concern for the 28-year-old after the play occurred. McNeil, whose all-out play has impressed plenty of fans, was unable to bear weight on his left leg and had to be carted off the field.

In his absence, J.D. Davis and Dominic Smith figure to get the bulk of outfield reps.
“Squirrel” has enjoyed a healthy start to the season, posting a .293/.358/.362 slash line with a 106 wrC+ and a .319 wOBA.
