Jeff McNeil was removed from the game against the Miami Marlins on Wednesday night in the bottom of the sixth inning after getting hit in the right wrist.
With the team up 9-0 already, it could have been done as a precaution, but given he appeared to be in significant pain it is worth mentioning.
McNeil, 27, has been great for the Mets this season, hitting .317/.384/.530 with 23 homers and 73 RBI to give himself a 4.9 bWAR and 143 OPS+ coming into Wednesday night. He registered his 74th and 75th RBI before leaving the game.
Juan Lagares came into pinch-run for McNeil and took over in center field while Brandon Nimmo shifted over to left field.
