Jed Lowrie (left side injuries, right calf) moved his rehab assignment to Brooklyn on Thursday night, joining the Cyclones for the second game of their three-game series against the Hudson Valley Renegades.

Lowrie, 35, was responsible for the only run of the game, a home run to right field in the fourth inning in his 1-for-3 day that also included a flyout and strikeout. The infielder played all nine innings at second base for the Cyclones.

Prior to that, Lowrie had been playing with the Syracuse Mets, in which he appeared in four straight games for them before getting a day off on Wednesday. During his short stint with Syracuse, Lowrie went 7-for-20 with one home run and two RBI.

After Thursday night’s game, Lowrie said that he isn’t sure whether or not this will be his last rehab game or not, but the idea of rejoining the team in the middle of a pennant race excites him.

“That’s what it’s all about,” Lowrie said. “I just want to do whatever I can to help us win.”

“You find a way to just continue to get better,” Lowrie told reporters. “Obviously it has been very frustrating, but like I said, you just continue to push and try to get better. … I just want to be healthy and do what I can to help us win.”

The Mets could certainly use his bat right now, but there are questions about how Mickey Callaway will find playing time for Lowrie, who has yet to play one game for the Mets. Still, it’s a good problem to have.
