According to Mike Puma of the NY Post, New York Mets outfielder Jay Bruce will head to Port St. Lucie tomorrow to begin a minor league rehab assignment with the St. Lucie Mets.

The 31-year old has been on the disabled list since June 17 due to a hip strain, amongst other ailments.

Bruce was signed to a three year, $39 million deal this offseason, and he been a major disappointment both offensively and defensively.

Over 62 games, Bruce is hitting .212/.292/.321 with just 12 doubles, three home runs, and 17 RBI.
