When Jay Bruce didn’t make an immediate impact in blue and orange, many fans called for the veteran outfielder’s head, citing an uncanny similarity to a former Met with the same initials.

Terry Collins tried everything. Moving him up and down the lineup, giving him a “mental health break,” and even benching him.

Though Bruce’s numbers as a Met have been alarming to say the least (.200/.277/.363 clip in 47 games), Bruce may finally be finding his groove in Queens.

Over his last seven games, Bruce is slashing .389/.450/.944 (7-for-18) and picked up three big home runs in Miami to help the Mets take two of three from the Fish.

“He’s locked in,” Mets Manager Terry Collins said. “It couldn’t come at a better time.”

If the Mets are going to have any success in a potential playoff appearance, Bruce is going to be a key ingredient.

However, it finally seems like things are looking up for the three-time all-star.
