The Mets have activated Jason Bay from the disabled list, and designated Omar Quintanilla for assignment.

In 29 games for the Mets this season, Quintanilla hit .257 with five doubles, one home run and four RBI in 70 at-bats. He had just one at-bat in two appearances in July.
Jason Bay is with the rest of the team in Washington this afternoon and taking early batting practice.
The Mets have not activated Bay yes according to Adam Rubin, but it looks like that could happen before the game.
All signs point to Jason Bay being activated for Tuesday’s series opener against the Nationals, although the Mets have yet to formally announce the roster move.
Currently, the players on the bubble could include Jordany Valdespin, Kirk Nieuwenhuis or even utility infielder Omar Quintanilla.
No word yet on Lucas Duda’s left hamstring strain and whether he could go on the DL. That also could be a possibility.
If they decide to cut Quintanilla, he will have to pass through waivers.
Bay went 3-for-16 with six walks in five rehab games between Class A St. Lucie and Triple-A Buffalo.
