Jacob deGrom will make one more start with the Syracuse Mets. He’ll pitch for the Mets Triple-A affiliate on Wednesday.

Finishing up his rehab appearances this will be deGrom’s second start in the upper-most level of the minors.

Last time out, deGrom threw a simulated game on Thursday where he reached 60 pitches.

DeGrom has made multiple starts in the minors this year. He’s appeared for St. Lucie and Binghamton as well. It should be his second chance to work with the Mets top prospect and No. 2 prospect in baseball catcher Francisco Alvarez.

The trade deadline is only a week away. It’s possible the Mets make the largest acquisition of any team (sans a Juan Soto trade) by getting deGrom back.
