Oops, I did it again. I thought only cats had nine lives, but I guess humans do too. It’s been nearly a month since I last logged onto our MMO dashboard to write a post and I can already tell that I’m a little bit rusty… Had a little trouble finding the comma and the question mark… Oh there it is…

In all seriousness, I feel very fortunate and I’m very grateful to be back and able to write for you again about my exploits and of course my lovable Mets – even if I’m only functioning at fifty percent of my old self.

I never realized how many things I took for granted in my life until one day my whole being and existence was turned upside down. I thought I knew what fear was, but I was oblivious to how black darkness could really be. I spent 14 days in three different hospitals in three different boroughs from Staten Island to Brooklyn and finally in Manhattan, but I’d swear on a stack of bibles that I spent five of those days in hell.

This virus is no joke and when it gets its clutches on you it rips you apart and ravages your soul. From now on I will cherish every breath I take. There is nothing more terrifying than trying to gasp for air and not getting any. So take it from me… be safe and be careful out there.

I wanted to take a moment to thank all of you for your thoughts, your prayers, and your words of encouragement. They gave me hope and they kept me going. I also want to thank all the doctors that pulled me through this in one piece. I don’t know how you did it, but thank you.

But most of all, I have to thank all the nurses who had to put up with me. I’m sorry for all the yelling and cursing and all the terrible things I said to you. I gave you a thousand reasons to abandon me, but you never did… You were always there tending to me and caring for me no matter how incorrigible I was. You really are the heroes in all of this and I am eternally grateful for all of you. Valerie, Evelyn and Marina – I love you.

Finally, I’m just so immeasurably appreciative of all the incredible people I’m so proud to work with on this site. They are my second family and I love them all so much. They each have this genuine and individual charm that makes them all so unique and special. They are such a joy to work with and interact with and I’m so blessed and fortunate to call them all my colleagues and my friends. I love you guys so much.

Well, that’s all for now I guess… I just wanted to stretch out my arms and see if I still knew how to log on and post something even if it had nothing to do with the Mets. Yep, it’s just like riding a bike, no trouble at all. I promise my next post will be strictly Mets.

I’ll leave you all with a simple prayer and a hope that you all stay healthy and safe, and don’t forget to tell someone you love them.
