Are the Mets going to trade for Milwaukee Brewers third baseman Aramis Ramirez? That’s what ESPN’s Jerry Crasnick said when he was asked to predict one deal he believed would go down at the trade deadline.

Crasnick believes the Mets have the pitching prospects to get a deal done and enough resources to take on the approximate $6 million that Ramirez is owed.

The 37-year-old veteran is batting .234 with 10 homers, 39 RBI and a .279 on-base percentage for the season, and is batting .306 with a .798 OPS over 11 games in July.

Ramirez doesn’t have a no-trade clause, but he prefers to get traded to a contender.

“If I get traded it’s going to be to a team that’s in a pennant race and that’s what I want,” Ramirez said.

Just before the All-Star break, Jon Morosi of Fox Sports reported that the Mets and Brewers had recently rekindled trade talks and he believed the players being discussed were Ramirez and shortstop Jean Segura .
