david murphy

The Dallas Morning News reports that the Cleveland Indians have reached an agreement on a two-year contract with free agent outfielder David Murphy.

The deal It’s expected to be worth more than $10 million according to MLBTR, though no figures have been officially announced yet.

Murphy, 31, is coming off the worst season of his career slashing at .220/.282/.374 in 476 plate appearances. His .656 OPS is actually worse than the Mets’ Ike Davis who is five years younger.

I’m thinking if there’s a market for David Murphy there’s certainly a market for Ike…

Or am I reading to much into this?

The former Red Six first round pick in 2003, will actually be taking a pay cut if his $5 million AAV proves true. At my projected $3.8 million for Davis, maybe we get lucky…

The perfect candidate would be addicted to monitoring MLBTR, Heyman, Rosenthal and Rubin. Any previous or current blogging experience is a plus. Bonus points if you don’t have a life. Just kidding… 🙂 Email me at [email protected] if interested.
