The Mets have placed reliever Ryota Igarashi on the 15-day disabled list and promoted Manny Acosta from Triple-A Buffalo.

After his MRI Wednesday morning, the Mets announced that he sustained a moderate injury to his left hamstring in last night’s game. The right-hander strained his left hamstring in the eighth inning of Tuesday night’s 4-0 victory over the Cubs when he squatted to field a bunt.

Iggy was just beginning to emerge as a viable setup man in the Mets bullpen and had a 1.35 ERA through 6 2/3 innings in his first year in the Major Leagues.

Acosta, 28, was 0-1 with a 2.16 ERA in 8.1 innings with the Bisons, and will be in uniform in time for tonights game.
