Good morning Mets fans! Despite the all the hype around the Winter Meetings taking place, last week was pretty boring. Hopefully we’ll see some moves and some of the big name free agents sign sometime this week! But for now, here are some of the latest rumors as of Sunday night:

Dodgers And Rays New Favorites For Realmuto

According to Joe Frisaro of MLB.com, the Rays and Dodgers are the two teams that are clearly in the mix for the for services of JT Realmuto.

The news came after the Mets signed Wilson Ramos to a two year deal, effectively taking themselves out of the Realmuto sweepstakes. The Mets were widely considered to be the favorite before the aforementioned signing.

The Marlins feel that they have no need to move the All-Star who has two more years of control,

Astros Looking To Add Sluggers

According to The Athletics Ken Rosenthal, the Astros are interested in former All-Star Nelson Cruz and former All-Star Michael Brantley.

Rosenthal says “The team is at least considering the possibility, talking to free agents Nelson Cruz and Michael Brantley while remaining open to a trade of right fielder Josh Reddick, according to major-league sources.”

The Astros are mulling all their options to upgrade offensively, but also have to keep in mind that top prospect Kyle Tucker is on the horizon, and it would not be best to block him into the minors with an aging outfielder.

Machado Setting Up Meetings With Two Potential Suitors

According to George King of the New York Post, the Yankees and Phillies each have meetings set up free agent infielder Manny Machado.

Machado has been very open about his desire to join forces with the Yankees, but the feeling has not entirely been mutual at times. The Yankees have been said to not want to give more than $300 Million to the infielder, but things can change with a strong meeting.

As for the Phillies, they’ve already acquired a shortstop, but can also put Mikael Franco on the trade market as they plan to spend stupidly according to their owner.

Both meetings are scheduled for Wednesday in New York.
