According to Jon Heyman of MLB Network, the Mets are targeting center fielder Jackie Bradley Jr., utility-man Enrique Hernandez, and a bullpen arm
(mentions potential of Brad Hand) to finish off their offseason.

Heyman also notes, that while the Mets like Trevor Bauer, they aren’t rushing to sign him and looking to line up multiple pieces. It was reported on Thursday that the Mets could be a possible landing spot for the right-handed starter.

Bradley entered the offseason as the No. 2 free agent center fielder, but is now the top choice after George Springer signed with the Blue Jays. The talented defender also had a strong offensive season in 2020, the left-handed hitter posted a 118 OPS+.

Hernandez, 29, has played every position but catcher in his six-year big league career. He has 18 defensive runs saved at second base, four DRS in center field, 14 DRS in left field, 3 DRS at shortstop, 3 DRS in right field, -1 DRS at third, and -2 DRS at first base in his career.

Offensively, Hernandez is a platoon bat that mashes lefties to the tune of a .820 OPS.

The Mets have been long attached to Hand, though other teams have jumped in the mix for his services as well. Other key relievers still on the free agent market include Alex Colome, Justin Wilson, Joakim Soria, and Trevor Rosenthal.
