Jon Heyman of MLB Network was on WFAN on Thursday afternoon, talking about the recent rumors in Major League Baseball, and the Mets are still hogging the airwaves.

Heyman says there’s a “good chance” that the Mets sign center fielder George Springer and “would be surprised if the Mets didn’t sign him (Francisco Lindor)” to a long-term deal.

Mets’ president Sandy Alderson has said multiple times in recent interviews that the Mets have only two true outfielders and that they would like it to be a right-handed hitter.

Springer is reportedly asking for a contract in the vicinity of $175 million, while the Mets and Blue Jays have offers on the table that break $100 million according to Heyman.

Lindor said during his introductory presser that he has never talked contract during the regular season, though he’s certainly open to staying with the Mets long-term.

The Mets acquired Lindor and starter Carlos Carrasco from the Indians for Amed Rosario, Andres Gimenez, Josh Wolf, and Isaiah Greene last week.
