On Tuesday, the Buffalo Bisons unveiled their totally cool logo for the 2009 season.

Not only does it hearken back to their earliest traditions, but they incorporated the Mets colors and signature skyline and baseball stitches in it as well.

The final product is a kick-ass design that fully recognizes the new partnership between the Mets and their new AAA Affiliate.

Here is what their Vice President, Mike Buczkowski had to say.

“We are thrilled to usher in a new era in Buffalo Bisons history with an exciting new logo for our fans to enjoy,” said Mike Buczkowski, Vice President/General Manger of the Buffalo Bisons. “With our team’s celebrated tradition in this great city and our new major league partnership with the New York Mets, we wanted our new logo design to take an old-fashion feel and give it a modern-looking twist.”

The logo was designed by Phoenix Design Works.

The Mets have also announced that Ken Oberkfell will manage the Bisons next season.

Although, I will always miss Norfolk/Tidewater, I’m glad the Mets dropped New Orleans and headed back East. What the heck is a Zephyr anyway?
