New York Mets righty Matt Harvey made his fourth start of the spring with five innings against the Miami Marlins on Thursday afternoon.
In those five innings, Harvey allowed three earned runs (all in the third inning) on six hits, one walk and struck out eight including striking out the side in his final frame.
His Grapefruit League ERA is down to 5.52 in 14.2 innings though he has allowed 16 hits in that span.

Harvey was hitting 95 MPH with his fastball early in the outing but the velocity fell off and was mostly 92-93 in his last two innings of work. He was working on his offspeed stuff in the fifth when he struck out the side and his changeup was the sharpest of his offerings.
It’s important to note that the Marlins had a very weak lineup today without Starlin Castro, Justin Bour and J.T. Realmuto.
