Terry Collins confirmed that Matt Harvey and Noah Syndergaard will start Games 1 and 2 of the season against the Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium.
Jacob deGrom will start in the home opener at Citi Field on April 8, assuming he’s back with the team. DeGrom and his wife Stacey are expecting their first child on April 5.
Collins also said that Bartolo Colon will be available out of the bullpen for Games 1 and 2 in Kansas City while Steven Matz will work out of the bullpen for Game 2. Matz will not piggy-back Syndergaard, he’ll be used in relief when called upon.
