Here are a couple of posts by Seedlings To Stars, who ranked Matt Harvey (No. 45), Zack Wheeler (No. 51) and Jeurys Famila (No. 54) on their Top 100 MLB Prospects.
Matt Harvey – Harvey slots in just ahead of the two other bigtime Mets pitching prospects, Zack Wheeler (#51) and Jeurys Familia (#54). He doesn’t have Familia’s mechanical issues or Wheeler’s control problems, and he’s more consistent than either of the other two, so he’s a safer bet to have a long and productive MLB career. However, he may have the worst stuff of the trio (although all three have very good stuff), so he’s perhaps the least likely of the three to place in the top five in Cy Young voting at least once in his career. He should be a groundball machine with a good enough strikeout-to-walk ratio to be a very valuable rotation piece.
Zack Wheeler – Wheeler made some nice strides this season, and his arsenal of pitches suggests that he could evolve into a well-above-average starting pitcher, but he’ll need to prove a) that he can hold up for a full season and b) that he can maintain his control for a whole season. His immediate improvement upon switching organizations is a positive sign, and he looks like a great acquisition for a Mets team that is still building toward the future. There’s obvious upside here, and if he can erase the two lingering concerns about him in 2012, Wheeler could become one of the top pitching prospects in the game.
Jeurys Familia – Familia is fairly close to the majors, and he’s got two very dynamic pitches that could probably give major league hitters trouble right now (in a bullpen role, at least). Still, there are some major concerns with his consistency and durability, as he’s never thrown 140 innings in a season and has only put together one statistically excellent campaign. His upside is certainly enticing, but there are a fair amount of warts here. I can see Familia as sort of a right-handed Francisco Liriano – a pitcher who occasionally dazzles but often frustrates.
