The Eastern League has named Binghamton Mets starter Greg Peavey as the Pitcher of the Week ending April 15th.

Peavey, 23, went 2-0 with and tossed 10.2 scoreless innings allowing just six hits and a walk while striking out nine batters.

The right-hander was selected in the 6th round of the 2010 draft by the Mets and made his professional debut with the Savannah Sand Gnats last season where he made 14 starts and went 6-2 with a 3.12 ERA. He was promoted to St. Lucie mid-season and went 5-4 with a 3.97 ERA in 10 starts.

In 26 minor league starts, Peavey has a 3.23 ERA and a 1.17 WHIP to go with a 13-6 record.
