In addition to the outdoor seating increase for venues, the following COVID-19 restrictions have been eased as well, starting May 15:
- Offices can increase from 50 percent to 75 percent.
- Gyms outside New York City can now operate at 50 percent.
- Casinos and gaming facilities can now operate at half capacity.
The Mets will have to wait and see if when the number increases to 33 percent, if New York State will lower the social distancing requirements to less than six feet so they will be able to fit those 14,000+ fans.
