Recap:

Dillon Gee took the hill to square off against the Rockies rookie hurler Guillermo Moscoso in the second game of the three game set in the Mile High City. Gee, coming off an awful start, came to play tonight, hurling seven frames allowing four runs (3 earned) on seven hits while punching out seven, picking up his second win of the year. Moscoso however didn’t enjoy the same success, only completing five innings while getting tagged for six runs on nine hits.

The middle of the order of the Mets offense came to life today as Murphy, Wright and Duda combined for an 8-for-13 night with six RBIs.

Lucas Duda took advantage of the hitter-friendly Coors Field, going 2-4 with a 2-run shot and four RBIs. He now has his average up to .260 on the year and 13 runs batted in.

Things got interesting in the ninth when the ever-inconsistent Frank Francisco allowed a a run to make it 7-5 before finally being able to shut the door, picking up his fifth save of the year while boosting his ERA to a gaudy 7.24.

Notes:

-David Wright, Daniel Murphy and Ruben Tejada all had three hit games, raising their averages to .385, .310 and .295 respectively.

-Ike Davis went 1-3 in his return from his benching Friday night.

-Dillon Gee looked more like the Dillon Gee from the first half of 2010 tonight. His command was much more on par and seemed a lot more in control of the ballgame overall.

Hero Of The Game:

Lucas Duda: for his 2-4 performance, 2-run homer and 4 RBIs on the evening.

Next Up:

Johan Santana takes the mound coming off of normal rest for the first time this year in the rubber game of the Rockies series tomorrow at 3:10.
