Stroman was taken out of last night’s game early and in the 6th inning, the Mets broadcast booth put the sentiment best when they said, “this might be a game where the Mets have to empty their pen.” At some points this year that would be a curse on this team. But the Mets were able to hang on and push the game into extra innings. They gave up a run in the top half of the frame but this game wasn’t meant for Cleveland. In the bottom half the Mets scored two runs, improving to 1.5 games back of the wild card and creating the chance for a series sweep tonight.
