Offense

The Mets offense was puzzled this afternoon only being able to come up with two hits across the board. But it was no problem getting on base with nine walks against Houston’s pitching.

In the fifth inning Pete Alonso started off the inning with a leadoff walk, Keon Broxton followed with the first hit of the day with a single up the middle. Two batters later the third baseman, David Thompson provided the Mets with a blast, tying the game with a two-out three-run homer over the left field fence making it 3-3.

Pete Alonso played first base today. He went 0 for 1 with a walk that contributed into a run in the fifth inning. Broxton went 1-for-2 with two walks.
