
The New York Mets scored three runs in the last two innings to come from behind and defeat the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-4 on Saturday night at Citi Field.
Pitching
Steven Matz worked around a one out Nick Amed double in a scoreless top of the first.
Arizona struck for a run with a two out hit in the second. Deven Marrero doubled down the line with one out, and after a Jarrod Dyson ground out moved him over, John Ryan Murphy singled home the first run of the game.
Matz bounced back with a 1-2-3 inning against the top of the order in the third.
The Diamondbacks tied the game at 2-2, as Paul Goldschmidt led off the fourth with a solo shot to left. Later in the inning after a two out walk to Dyson, Murphy smacked a two run home run to left to give Arizona a 4-2 lead.
Matz finished the night with a line of four runs on six hits while walking one and striking out two over four innings.
Seth Lugo struck out Amed and worked around a two out Chris Owings single in the fifth. Lugo continued rolling as he struck out Dyson in a 1-2-3 sixth inning. Lugo extended his scoreless innings streak to thirteen straight innings.
Paul Sewald struck out Alex Avila and David Peralta in a 1-2-3 seventh inning. AJ Ramos allowed a bunt single and a stolen base, but struck out a pair in a scoreless eighth inning.
Jeurys Familia struck out Murphy in a 1-2-3 top of the ninth, and was awarded the win.

Hitting
The Mets fought right back to take a a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the second. After Devin Mesoraco was hit by a pitch, Michael Conforto pulled a two run home run off the facing of the Coca Cola corner.
Leading off the third, Brandon Nimmo drew a walk and stole second. Asdrubal Cabrera then walked as well to put runners on first and second with no outs. But the chance was wasted quickly as Wilmer Flores flew out, Jay Bruce struck out, and Mesoraco grounded out.
Back-to-back singles leading off the sixth from Flores and Bruce put runners at the corners. Mesoraco popped out, but then Conforto drew a walk to load the bases with one out.
After a pitching change Jose Reyes missed a fastball down the middle and popped out to third. Arizona then went to lefty Jorge de la Rosa to face the pinch hitting Adrian Gonzalez, who flew out to left to strand the bases loaded.
The Mets evened the game at four in the bottom of the eighth. Bruce led off the inning with a first pitch single, then Mesoraco launched a game tying two run home run to left.
Luis Guillorme lined a two out pinch hit double down the line, however Amed Rosario struck out to end the eighth.
Nimmo led off the ninth with a two strike double off the right field fence. Cabrera then reached base as he dropped down a perfect bunt to put runners on the corners with no outs. The Mets then won it on a Flores walk-off sacrifice fly.
