Major League Baseball announced on Monday the candidates for the Inaugural All-MLB Team, with four Mets players as finalists.

Mets slugger Pete Alonso is one of seven first baseman on the ballot coming off setting the rookie home run record, leading the majors in homers with 53, and winning National League Rookie of the Year Award.

The Polar Bear is joined by the Jose Abreu, Josh Bell, Freddie Freeman, Yuli Gurriel, Matt Olson, Anthony Rizzo, and Carlos Santana. Alonso was recently voted at the top MLB first baseman in 2019 by ESPN.

Jeff McNeil has his name in a strong outfield class that includes Mookie Betts, Christian Yelich, Mike Trout, and Cody Bellinger. You can pick three outfielders in the voting.

Both 2019 Cy Young winners – Jacob deGrom and Justin Verlander – are among the 19 starting pitchers to make five selections for the All-MLB rotation.

Lastly, Mets relief stud Seth Lugo is a finalist in the bullpen. You can vote for two of the 11 relievers.

The voting ends on Dec. 3 at 5:00 p.m. ET. Fan can vote once every 24 hours. The first and second teams will be announced at the 2019 Winter Meetings that run Dec. 8 through Dec. 12.
