Left-handed pitcher Nate Fisher has cleared waivers and will remain in the Mets organization per Jacob Resnick of MLB Pipeline. In other left-hander news, Rob Zastryzny has been claimed off waivers by the Angels. Both Fisher and Zastryzny had been designated for assignment by the Mets on Monday. Lastly in lefty news, Sam Clay has cleared waivers and been outrighted to Triple-A Syracuse.

Fisher, 26, had quite the debut for the Mets on Sunday when he pitched three scoreless innings in the Mets comeback win over the Phillies. Fisher had warmed up multiple times before entering the game and also came back out to pitch after a rain delay. A memorable major league debut for a person that was working in finance as recently as last year.

Fisher will head back to Triple-A Syracuse where he has a 3.12 ERA across 12 appearances this year.

Zastryzny, 30, made his Mets debut last week allowing one run in one inning of work. That was his first big league action since 2018 with the Cubs.
